4 Instagram accounts you should follow

I’m a big fan of Instagram. Most of us here are. Instagram has grown a lot over the past few years—showing no signs of slowing down—and that growth means it’s worth considering as a marketing platform for your business or nonprofit.

While the capabilities lend themselves better to some industries than others, it definitely has a lot of potential. If you take a look at the most followed Instagram accounts, you’ll see celebrities using Instagram to help them make more money.

Don’t fret! Your organization can make use of Instagram without being a celebrity. Here are four Instagram accounts you should consider following.

Netflix

Netflix promotes their shows; shows behind-the-scenes updates; leans into memes about shows they offer; uses video, carousel posts (aka multi-image posts), IGTV, and stories; and pins stories. Take a look at Netflix’s feed and see if you can come up with any creative ideas for your organization.

Gucci

If you’re in the fashion industry or sell any sort of product, Gucci’s posts can give you some great inspiration. They also do an excellent job of posting shout-outs to people wearing their clothing. When’s the last time you posted a shout-out to a client, customer, or strategic partner?

Nike

Nike does a great job engaging on Instagram. It turns out that their entire team is aware of what’s happening on Instagram, which helps them be consistent across other marketing and communication platforms. They’re also very responsive on the platform. Communicating with your followers lets them know you actually exist. What are you doing to be consistent and responsive?

Oreo

We’ve shared how much we love Oreo on Instagram in the past, and that hasn’t changed one bit. They interact with their audience, create timely graphics, engage with pop culture, use personalized hashtags, and plenty more. Look at their feed and see what ideas it sparks for your organization.
