Are you looking for Instagram inspiration, ideas, and lessons? Believe it or not, you can learn a lot from following the hashtag #instamom. It’s one of many hashtags I follow, and I’ve unexpectedly learned a few things about Instagram marketing.

Whether the moms promote their business or just share pictures and stories of their families, these women have a lot to teach us about marketing.

Let’s look at five lessons you can learn from the hashtag #instamom.

Lesson #1: Be personal

It pays to be personal. These moms aren’t afraid to share their stories and lives with the world. As a result, they’ve built up a strong following of loyal fans who appreciate their openness and honesty.

If you want to build strong relationships with your audience members, take a page out of the #instamom playbook and become more personal.

Lesson #2: Be authentic

You must be authentic on Instagram. The best #instamoms share their real lives, not some fake version of themselves. As a result, they come off as relatable and down-to-earth. Their authenticity is one of the things that make them so successful on Instagram.

Lesson #3: Quality, not just quantity

As is often the case, quality trumps quantity. That’s not to say you shouldn’t post regularly (more on that in a minute). But these moms aren’t posting 100 times a day. They’re taking time to curate their feeds and share only the best content.

As a result, their followers are engaged and interested in what they’re posting. If you want to build a strong Instagram following, make sure you’re sharing high-quality content.

Lesson #4: Be different

Not only is it okay to be different, it’s actually a good thing. If an #instamom is successful, chances are she’s unique in some way. They’re not afraid to stand out from the crowd and be themselves. As a result, they’ve built a large following of like-minded people.

If you want to build a strong brand, don’t be afraid to be different.

Lesson #5: Consistency is key

These moms are posting regularly. Not only do their followers know what to expect, but the Instagram algorithm also seems to like that.

There you have it! Those are just five lessons I’ve learned from following the #instamom tag on Instagram.
