The Kids’ Place Bowling Tournament 2012

This year marks the fifth year that the Baird Agency of Farmers Insurance here in Edmond is putting on a fund-raiser benefiting The Kids’ Place of Edmond. This year’s event will be on August 25, 2012.

About The Kids’ Place

The Kids’ Place of Edmond is a grief support center for children and teens experiencing loss and mourning after the death of a loved one. They help children deal appropriately with major losses, stepping in when we parents don’t always know the right way to handle things.

The Fundraiser

Event organizer Natasha Baird from the Baird Agency is very passionate about the program The Kids’ Place offers, since she herself lost a brother when she was just six years old.

As a child you don’t fully understand the concept of death, especially when it is a sibling that you are close to. You know they are gone, but the full impact of that has happened doesn’t set in immediately – it may take weeks, months or even years to comprehend the effect the death has on  your life.

Here at T&S, we’ve been fortunate enough to be involved since the second fundraiser, back when it was miniature golf. Josh even made the local paper back in 2008, the first year we were involved.

Like last year, the event this year will be a bowling tournament held at AMF Boulevard Lanes in Edmond, Oklahoma. The entry fee is $15 per person, and there will be refreshments. You can help us gauge interest by RSVPing on Facebook.
