If you’re just getting started with Mailchimp or looking for a specific feature, it can be hard to know where to find it. In this short guide, I’ll show you where to find the most popular items in Mailchimp. Whether you’re looking for campaign stats or subscriber information, I’ve got you covered!

Ready? Get signed into your Mailchimp account, then let’s jump in!

How do I find my Mailchimp list?

Want to see your list of subscribers and maybe even download it so you can keep a backup? Navigate to Audience, then All contacts. If you have more than one audience (aka list), select the audience you want in the Current audience dropdown at the top left.

How to add a subscriber

Need to add a new subscriber? Go to Audience, and you should end up on the Audience dashboard. On the top right, click the Manage Audience dropdown and Add subscriber. If you want to import multiple contacts simultaneously, select Import contacts instead.

Where to find your Mailchimp API key

You may want to connect your website or a third-party service to Mailchimp. If so, you need your Mailchimp API key to plug into your settings on the other website. To find it, click on your photo in the bottom left, then Account & billing. Once there, go to the Extras menu up top, then select API keys. Then you can copy any existing API key or create a new one. The best practice is to create a new one for each service that needs it.

How to find your unsubscribed list

Need to find people who have unsubscribed from your email list? Go to Audience, then All contacts. Next, click on the Overview option up top, then click on the number of Unsubscribed Contacts.

Where is my campaign URL?

Your campaign URL will let people see your email in their web browser. It can be great for sharing it on social media or sending it to someone who needs to proofread it ahead of time. To find it, go to Campaigns, click on the dropdown arrow to the right of the campaign you want the URL for, and click View email. Then you can copy the URL—web address—from the address bar at the top of your web browser.

Where do I go to create an email?

Want to start a new email? This is probably the easiest one! From nearly anywhere in the backend of Mailchimp, click the Create option on the top left with the pencil icon next to it. From there, click on the Design Email button.

Where your templates are saved

Want to find an email template you created and maybe even make changes to it? Go to Campaigns, then to Email templates. That will show you a list of all your templates, and you can edit them, create a campaign with one of them, or even share them with others.

Find your Mailchimp signup form URL

Did you know Mailchimp provides an email list signup form you can share on social media and elsewhere? Go to Audience, Signup forms, then select the Form Builder option. Just above the actual form, there will be a Signup form URL you can copy.

Check your Mailchimp analytics

Finally, if you want to analyze how your email marketing is doing, you’ll need analytics. Most likely, you’ll want them based on your audience as a whole, your email campaigns as a whole, or an individual campaign.

For audience analytics, click on Audience, and you’ll end up on the Audience dashboard with several analytics options. You can change to a different audience in the Current audience dropdown in the top left.

For overall email campaign analytics, go to Campaigns, then Email analytics. Select your audience and time frame to see the data. You can change the Metric right under Engagement to see different data for the same period.

For individual email campaigns, go to Campaigns, find the email you want data for, and click the View Report button on the right.

Hopefully, that helps with some common things people look for in Mailchimp. If you need help with your Mailchimp account or email marketing in general, be sure to reach out! We are Mailchimp Partners and would be happy to talk and see if we can help you.
