What’s your plan?

Have you ever been frustrated because you know that social media could be helpful for your organization, but so far it hasn’t been as helpful as you’d like? Maybe you’ve started using it and it feels like a big waste of time. Or maybe you haven’t done anything at all, because you’re too overwhelmed.

Most people tend to fall into one of three groups when it comes to social media.

The people in the first group are having success using social media. The platform they’re using is probably one they’re comfortable with. Maybe they’re using Facebook, maybe it’s Twitter, or LinkedIn. But they know social media can benefit them because they’re already seeing that.

If that’s you, that’s terrific!

Those in the second group typically don’t believe social media can be successful. Sometimes they’ve tried it themselves and failed, but sometimes they haven’t even tried. Either way, they’ve decided it isn’t worth their time.

If you’re in that group, feel free to stop reading now. There are hundreds of social media success stories online, but if those haven’t convinced you then I probably won’t convince you here. I won’t waste your time.

People in the third group believe they could be successful with social media, but they aren’t currently seeing results.

Does that sound like you? If it does, the first step toward success is simply creating a plan.
So how do you create a plan for your social media marketing?

It depends on how you work. If you love planning, it will probably come pretty naturally to you. Aim to create at least a month’s worth of updates at one time. That can be anywhere from 15 posts (to go out every other day) to 60 posts (to go out twice a day). It’s best to start small and build up from that if it makes sense for you.

If you’re not a planner, though, that’s okay! These videos can help you plan your social media posts in the least-painful way possible.*
