Easily Make Your Pinterest Account Stand Out

Pinterest recently added the ability to verify your website. This is an easy way to make your brand stand out just a little bit more on their website.

Best of all, the whole process just takes a couple minutes!

Launched on October 25, 2012, the process of verifying  your website is easy and quick to do if you have access to upload a small file to your website’s hosting account. It took me a little under two minutes. And it works exactly the same for personal accounts and the recently announced business accounts.

Where previously your location may have appeared in your listing in search results on Pinterest, now your website address will appear, with a little red check mark next to it. Also, the little globe icon on your profile will be replaced by your full address with that same little red check mark next to it.

It’s important to note that currently, they only support top level domains. In other words, if you own something like myname.somebody-elses-domain.com, you’re probably out of luck. But if you own your own domain like mydomain.com, you’re good to go.

The first thing you’ll want to do is log into your Pinterest account, hover over your name in the top right, then click on Settings.

Once there, scroll down to where your website is. Click on the button there that says Verify Website.

On the next screen, download the file linked to, then upload it to your website using something like to FTP or a File Manager. Make sure you leave this screen open while uploading the file.

Finally, go back to the open Pinterest page, and click the link at the bottom to finish the process. And that’s it! Your site is now verified, which will help your listing stand out that much more.
